Faces of JBC - Khimajibhai Vachhani

“Great things in business are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people.” – Steve Jobs

For those of you who regularly read our Faces of JBC series, you know this is a platform we use to give our customers, prospects, and team members at other plants a chance to get a peek behind the scenes at the terrific team members that come together to help us collectively achieve die-cutting greatness.

One of the best parts about bringing the HST and DCT families into the JBC fold was all the fantastic individuals who joined Team JBC.    For today's "Faces of JBC" feature, we highlight Khimajibhai (Khim) Vachhani, a valued production associate who has been an integral part of the Elk Grove team since 2017.

Here's a quick Q&A to help you get to know Khim.

Describe your role at JBC and how it fits with the big picture.

I am a machine operator in the production department of the JBC-Chicago Elk Grove Village site. I help fulfill the orders by manufacturing the parts required.

My team is very collaborative and hard-working. My co-workers work in sync towards maintaining quality and ensuring that manufacturing is done to the right standards.

Where did you work before JBC? And Why did you decide to join the team?

I started my career as a history and geography teacher in India. I taught at my local high school for 22 years before moving to the USA.

Here, I started in the packaging industry at a company where I was part of the assembly team. After that, I moved to Motorola’s radio tower testing where I worked for a little over three years before joining what is now JBC Technologies.

I’ve always been interested in machinery and the manufacturing ideas around me. The environment here is very technically advanced and allows me to learn and improve my knowledge.

Can you describe your job/company in three words?

Innovation. Engaging. Quality.

What is your greatest motivation?

Curiosity to learn. Learning for me is lifelong and working at JBC provides me with an opportunity to engage in that every day.

What are you most proud of while working at JBC?

As part of the team that manufactures the parts, it has been a pleasure to make sure that I contribute to the company's growth by completing essential orders. I am proud of the dedication that each employee has towards their job responsibilities while being inclusive of everyone’s growth and learning.

What is the best part about working at JBC?

JBC has a nurturing environment where I can have transparent communication and ongoing learning

What are some of your interests outside of work?

I love to spend time with family, do yoga, and play volleyball. I also enjoy spending time in nature through walks and jogging.

What is something about you that most people don’t know?

When I was a child, I used to accompany my father to our family farm. I was intrigued by agriculture and often loved to lend a hand in doing tasks.
